Job description
Position Overview
Kingborough Council in Kingston, Tasmania is offering a full-time, two-year fixed-term contractual position for a Community Resilience Officer within the Environment, Development, and Community department. This role is based at the Civic Centre and focuses on enhancing community preparedness, response, and recovery in disaster scenarios.
Role Objectives and Responsibilities
As the primary liaison in a groundbreaking collaboration with the Royal Automobile Club of Tasmania (RACT), the incumbent will engage extensively with local residents, volunteers, government bodies, and emergency management stakeholders. The role demands fostering cooperative partnerships, delivering practical education, offering guidance, and strengthening community capacity to build safer, more resilient neighborhoods in the Kingborough area. Additional contributions include supporting regional and state-level emergency management and recovery efforts.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent stakeholder engagement capabilities, proven experience in collaborative partnership development, and a commitment to empowering communities through actionable initiatives.
Compensation and Contract Details
Remuneration is offered between $94,895 and $104,849 annually, commensurate with skills and experience, along with a 12.5% superannuation employer contribution.
