Job description

About the Studio

Tandemi is a compact independent game studio creating cooperative experiences that blend fun with a hint of fear. The team is small, adaptable, and built from people who have worked across major game and animation companies, including Pixar, Bungie, Blizzard, Riot Games, WorldWalker, and ArenaNet. Its first project, Begone Beast, is a 1-4 player online co-op action game that reimagines the energy of Left 4 Dead with a Nintendo-style sensibility.

Role Overview

The studio is looking for a Community & Marketing Content Manager to translate the game’s eerie charm into engaging communication and content. This position touches several areas at once, which is especially important in a small team environment. The studio emphasizes collaboration, realistic scoping, and prioritization rather than expecting one person to do everything alone.

The goal is to expand the reach of marketing efforts, amplify major campaign moments such as trailers, and spotlight the game’s distinctive play experience. A major part of the role also involves running the Discord community and making sure players feel heard, supported, and represented.

Working Style and Contract Details

The studio operates fully remotely and communicates primarily through Discord. Work hours are flexible, and the schedule can be managed independently. The team wants to build direct channels with players, understand what excites them most, and nurture a positive long-term community around Begone Beast as it moves into Steam Early Access and beyond.

  • Initial contract length: 6 months, with the intention to transition into a full-time hire.
  • Estimated workload: 30 to 40 hours per week.
  • Work arrangement: fully remote.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the development team to turn game assets into fresh, engaging content for social channels, Discord, and Steam.
  • Plan, manage, and keep up a content calendar for the game’s social accounts on X and TikTok, while tracking community engagement and sentiment.
  • Create, launch, organize, and oversee the official Begone Beast Discord server.
  • Support the Discord community through regular interaction, issue spotting, bot setup, moderator onboarding, and ongoing improvements that help the space grow into an active and welcoming community.
  • Help shape influencer outreach by researching creators and working with the team on outreach, engagement, and retention strategy.
  • Set up clear feedback channels between players and the development team, and share meaningful reporting on bugs, key issues, and overall community mood.
  • Partner with the team to format and present patch notes and game updates in a way that builds excitement among players.

Requirements

  • 2 to 3 years of experience in community, communications, influencer management, or marketing.
  • Experience in the game industry is an advantage; having shipped a game is an especially strong plus.
  • A strong sense for content that encourages players to engage, share, and take part.
  • Ability to maintain a warm, inclusive, and calming tone even during stressful or conflict-heavy situations.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to turn community engagement into meaningful relationships with players and industry contacts.
  • Confident writing ability for both casual community interaction and polished communication with press, influencers, and thread-based posts.
  • Good time management and the ability to balance multiple channels and emails while keeping healthy boundaries and productivity over the long run.
  • Hands-on Discord experience, ideally including moderator or server owner responsibilities, plus familiarity with Discord support ticket systems.

Additional Information

This role is designed for someone who can help shape how the game is presented publicly, support player relationships, and keep communication organized across multiple platforms. The studio values resourcefulness, collaboration, and a long-term community mindset.

Workload Notes

The expected weekly commitment is 30 to 40 hours. The studio also notes that schedules are flexible and self-managed.

What the Studio Wants to Build

The broader objective is to create a lasting, wholesome community around Begone Beast, strengthen the impact of marketing beats, and maintain a healthy communication loop between players and the development team.
