Job description
About the Company
WeWork builds flexible workspaces that help organizations of every size grow and succeed across more than 37 countries. The company sees itself as a leader in the changing world of work, with a mission centered on enabling members to do their best work and connect with a wider global community.
Role Overview
As a Community Lead, you will be a key part of creating a strong member experience at your assigned location. You will work from the building each day, make sure member needs are handled in line with WeWork’s global standards, and help deliver a welcoming, high-quality environment for members and guests. The role may involve supporting a diverse member base or, depending on the site, working mainly with an Enterprise client. Enterprise locations may have different holidays, systems, operating needs, relationship expectations, and property management responsibilities compared with Classic locations.
Membership Engagement and Retention
- Hold scheduled quarterly check-ins with owned accounts to help members get the most from their membership and to stay updated on their experience.
- Use available member information to anticipate needs in advance and personalize the experience for members and guests.
- Reach out in person to members who submit low ratings for conference rooms, poor ticket feedback, or negative responses in Medallia.
- Apply the issue-resolution process and severity scale to determine the right next steps, making sure the final solution addresses the member’s concern fully.
- Review Medallia feedback regularly, identify improvement areas, and introduce proactive changes that keep member experience central.
- Assist with front desk coverage planning when needed so business hours always have consistent coverage.
Move-In and Move-Out Support
- Lead pre-move-in meetings with new accounts to set up a smooth arrival.
- Complete the New Member Orientation process for every new account in the building.
- Prepare onboarding resources for new members, such as welcome notes and FAQ guides, for move-in day.
- Carry out move-out interviews to learn about departing members’ overall experience.
Events
- Share input on event formats based on the member mix and assess events by attendance, satisfaction, and impact for the Events team.
- Plan and run weekly social events that strengthen community in the location, and support value-driven events organized by the Events team when required.
- Create and circulate event promotion materials, including weekly event posters and individual event posters.
- Ensure each event follows building-specific operational needs such as elevator use and HVAC requirements.
Building Operations and Management
- Perform morning walkthroughs to spot and address issues, and escalate repeated problems to your manager or the appropriate cross-functional teams.
- Understand WeWork policies and procedures and keep members informed about building updates through email, in person, or broadcast messages.
- Help shape the atmosphere of the building by managing music volume and activations according to the time of day and occasion.
- Work with in-building third-party cleaning vendors to help keep the space up to standard.
- Track, audit, and organize collected and distributed keys, and manage keycard inventory by requesting new stock when needed.
- Support community responsibilities for member companies in buildings without a Community presence, which may include operational ownership, coordination with Sales and Account Management, and support for contractual commitments.
Safety and Security
- Understand the building management and WeWork emergency action plans relevant to the role.
- Prepare incident reports when needed, respond appropriately to medical emergencies, and follow leadership instructions during emergencies or security alerts.
Sales Support
- Lead building tours arranged by the Sales team for VIPs or prospective members when needed.
- Notify the Growth Team when members express interest in discussions about move-outs, extensions, transfers, or similar matters.
- Pass along prospective member leads to the appropriate sales contacts, including walk-ins, current members, and guests.
- Show potential members around the space and explain the benefits that match their needs.
About You
This role is suited to candidates with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience. A minimum of 2 years in hospitality is required, along with a strong grasp of the local language and local culture. You should bring excellent interpersonal and networking ability, clear spoken and written communication, strong organization, and the ability to handle multiple projects from beginning to end. Attention to detail, efficient task management, and a genuine interest in building lasting relationships are also important.
Compensation and Benefits
The base salary for this position is $65,000 per year. Employees may also be eligible for an incentive plan tied to the role, with the exact details shared by the recruiter. Incentive plans are governed by the terms of the applicable compensation plan and may be changed by WeWork.
Full-time employees can receive comprehensive benefits according to applicable policies and agreements, including 20 days of PTO, about 13 paid holidays, 80 hours of paid sick time per calendar year, 16 weeks of paid parental leave, competitive healthcare coverage, a 401k plan, and life and AD&D insurance.
Life at WeWork
Working at WeWork is described as more than a regular job. The company emphasizes passion, curiosity, community, and collaboration, and says team members are encouraged to contribute ideas, work across teams, and bring an open-minded approach. Different viewpoints are welcomed and valued.
Equal Opportunity Statement
WeWork states that it is an equal employment opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of gender, sexual orientation, marital or civil status, pregnancy or pregnancy-related conditions, gender identity or expression, transgender status or gender reassignment, race, color, national origin or ancestry, citizenship, religion or religious beliefs, age, disability, genetic information, military or veteran status, or any other legally protected characteristic. The company also says it supports affirmative action for veterans and people with disabilities.
Additional Information
The role may differ depending on whether the assigned site is a Classic location or an Enterprise location. Enterprise sites can involve different holidays, technical systems, operating requirements, relationship management responsibilities, and property management duties.
Base pay is listed at $65,000 annually. An incentive compensation plan may apply, and the terms will be provided after employment begins.
