About the Organization

Three Pillars Alliance Development (3PAD) is a community-focused organization working to advance sustainable development across three main areas: social empowerment, education and capacity building, and community development. By partnering with schools, churches, and community groups, the organization builds supportive spaces for discussion, learning, and growth. Its work is centered on helping youth and vulnerable groups gain useful skills, guidance, and opportunities that improve their livelihoods and strengthen their contribution to society. Through steady community involvement and new program ideas, 3PAD supports resilience and transformation in Wakiso and surrounding areas.

Role Overview

The Community Field Officer position is a remote and on-site hybrid role based in Kampala. The person in this role will work directly with communities to encourage cooperation, strengthen relationships, and deliver meaningful outreach initiatives. The role also includes supporting community service projects, conducting training sessions, coordinating engagement activities, and providing guidance on social development efforts. In addition, the officer will act as a link between the organization and relevant partners to help deliver effective community development work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with local communities and encourage participation in development activities.
  • Organize and support community service initiatives and outreach programs.
  • Lead training sessions and help prepare materials for community education.
  • Coordinate community engagement efforts with different groups and stakeholders.
  • Offer guidance and support on social development initiatives.
  • Serve as a liaison between the organization and external partners.
  • Build trust and maintain strong relationships within the community.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Ability to work effectively with diverse community groups through service and engagement.
  • Good communication and training skills for running workshops and encouraging participation.
  • Awareness of police procedures or experience working with law enforcement to support safety and compliance.
  • Capability to develop trust and form strategic partnerships with local stakeholders.
  • Experience in project implementation, monitoring, and evaluation is considered an advantage.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Community Development, or a closely related field is preferred.
  • Knowledge of local languages and cultural sensitivity will be an added advantage.

Additional Information

This role is described as self-control remote and on-site, based in Kampala.
