Job description
Role overview
This position reports to the Community Facilities Manager and is one of two team leader posts located at Newton Abbot Hospital. The role supports the daily coordination and management of facilities activity across site, including oversight of 32 staff in Newton Abbot and 2 staff in Teignmouth Hospital.
The post is central to maintaining patient flow, upholding the Trust’s cleaning and infection control standards, and helping ensure that patients, staff, and visitors experience a clean, safe environment.
Key duties
- Oversee and monitor facilities services across community hospitals, health and wellbeing centres, and other Trust buildings.
- Communicate clearly with colleagues at all levels, as well as with patients and external suppliers.
- Take part in required meetings, including weekly team meetings, monthly team meetings, and weekly operational management briefings.
- Support the Workplace Division by sharing information effectively with all Facilities Services staff.
- Ensure strong handover practices with supervisor colleagues as part of the rota.
- Help deliver the Trust complaints process by managing service-related complaints and compliments and joining investigations when needed.
- Respond appropriately to external visits and inspections, including unannounced CQC or Environmental Health attendance, and escalate concerns to line management when required.
