Role Overview

Join Corrective Services NSW as a Community Corrections Officer at the Coonamble Community Corrections office within the Western District. This position involves supervision of individuals on community orders, supporting their rehabilitation and community safety. A talent pool is being formed for future permanent and temporary opportunities over the next 18 months, primarily based in Coonamble.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and guide offenders completing community-based orders to encourage behavioural change and accountability.
• Assess risks and individual needs to develop customized case management plans.
• Prepare detailed reports for authorities and recommend relevant programs and services.

About the Location

The Coonamble office is located in a rural setting on the Castlereagh River, serving areas including Walgett and Lightning Ridge. It respects the traditional lands of Wailwan, Gamilaraay, and Yuwaalaraay peoples. The community features notable natural attractions such as Warrumbungles National Park and is known for hosting Australia’s largest rodeo and camp draft annually in June.

Additional Information

Candidates must complete a mandatory fully paid 4-week training program delivered in-person at the Brush Farm Academy, which is part of the Certificate IV curriculum.
