The company has a substantial footprint in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania, supported by breweries, distilleries, related industries, and a distribution network across East Africa. It also manages a growing export business both within the wider Eastern Africa region and beyond it. EABL’s wide-ranging operations help it deliver high-quality brands to consumers while creating long-term value for investors in East Africa.
The business functions in a multicultural, multinational, and multi-currency setting, with exposure to a range of regulatory, tax, and compliance obligations. EABL is also a publicly listed company on the securities exchanges of Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.

- Work with departments across the organisation to ensure communication reaches the entire business evenly.
- Own the corporate communications and public relations cycle plan and oversee related agency management.
- Track the external environment to spot reputation-building opportunities and emerging threats, then respond appropriately.
- Advise on the right message, audience, and delivery route for information cascades.
- Develop and manage content for online and social media platforms.
- Administer PR agency contracts and ensure delivery of agreed workstreams.
- Lead delivery of the organisation’s Sustainability Strategy, Spirit of Progress.
- Plan and implement the three pillars of the sustainability strategy: Promote Positive Drinking, Champion Inclusion and Diversity, and Pioneer Grain to Glass Sustainability.
- Ensure sustainability programmes meet their KPIs, including initiatives under Positive Drinking, Inclusion and Diversity, and Water for Life.
- Build and manage strategic partnerships with project partners, government bodies, and regulators to advance the Spirit of Progress agenda.
- Promote the sustainability strategy internally across all departments and production sites.
- Handle donation-related matters and community support engagements.
- Build understanding and support for Spirit of Progress initiatives among both internal and external audiences.
- Engage stakeholders on topics such as alcohol in society, inclusion and diversity, agribusiness, people with disabilities, and community support initiatives.
- Drive implementation of the agriculture programme, Shamba Ni Mali, and support meaningful engagement with more than 5,000 farmers working with SBL.
- Mobilise support from other SBL functions and employees for community support programmes.
- Prepare and share timely progress reports on Spirit of Progress implementation.
- Contribute inputs for EABL’s Annual Integrated and Sustainability Reports and coordinate impactful local launches of those reports.
