Role Overview

Credence is hiring a Communications Specialist to support the U.S. Space Force, Space Systems Command (SSC), S6 Office within the Command Staff Support Services team at Los Angeles Space Force Base in El Segundo, California. This role focuses on strategic communications, executive messaging, stakeholder outreach, and the distribution of information for SSC’s Chief Information Office.

The person in this position will help communicate the organization’s mission, priorities, initiatives, and achievements to both internal and external audiences using a range of communication channels and content formats. The role calls for outstanding writing, editing, coordination, and organization skills, plus the ability to work effectively with senior military, civilian, and contractor stakeholders.

Key Duties

  • Create, refine, and manage communication materials such as articles, newsletters, briefing packages, talking points, speeches, fact sheets, executive summaries, and strategic messaging documents.
  • Support the design and execution of communication campaigns that align with SSC and S6 strategic goals.
  • Prepare and coordinate internal and external messaging that increases awareness of programs, milestones, initiatives, and organizational accomplishments.
  • Assist with executive communications by developing presentations, correspondence, and stakeholder engagement materials for senior leaders.
  • Coordinate content across multiple platforms, including websites, collaboration portals, and approved social media channels.
  • Produce visual communication assets such as infographics, brochures, posters, and presentation decks.
  • Help plan communications for events including meetings, conferences, ceremonies, leadership engagements, and workforce outreach activities.
  • Work closely with government stakeholders, public affairs teams, technical subject matter experts, and leadership to ensure content is accurate, timely, and consistent.
  • Monitor communication efforts and suggest improvements to audience engagement and outreach effectiveness.
  • Ensure all products comply with applicable Department of Defense, U.S. Space Force, and SSC communication, branding, and security requirements.
  • Maintain repositories, communication schedules, and content management tools as needed.

Requirements

  • An active Secret security clearance is mandatory.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English, Marketing, Strategic Communications, or a closely related discipline.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in communications, public affairs, strategic communications, marketing, or a similar area.
  • Proven ability to develop polished written and visual materials for senior leadership audiences.
  • Strong skills in writing, speaking, editing, proofreading, and presenting.
  • Hands-on experience creating executive-level briefings and presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Excellent organization and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
  • Capability to work both independently and as part of a government-contractor team.

Preferred Background

  • Prior experience supporting the Department of Defense, U.S. Space Force, U.S. Air Force, or another federal agency.
  • Familiarity with strategic communications planning and stakeholder engagement.
  • Experience supporting executive offices, headquarters staffs, or command-level organizations.
  • Exposure to graphic design, digital content creation, or multimedia tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, or similar software.
  • Understanding of DoD communication, public affairs, and information security policies.
