Role Overview
Join the Revenue Growth & Planning team at Moët Hennessy UK as a Commercial Planning Intern, focusing primarily on the On-Trade channel. This internship provides practical experience supporting daily commercial planning tasks, emphasizing data precision, forecasting accuracy, detailed reporting, and fostering collaboration across departments. You will play a pivotal role in volume and revenue forecasting, generating reports, and performing business analysis to aid effective decision-making and support the execution of commercial strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a commercial planning partner for Direct & Indirect On-Trade as well as Route to Market (RTM) and other significant channels such as Retail, Private Sales, Corporate engagements, Sponsorships, and Festivals.
- Support the sales team’s planning processes and activities.
- Serve as the primary contact for initiating and modifying commercial investments.
- Assist the sales team with customer creation and data entry within SAP and Aspire systems.
- Collaborate with the Commercial Planning Business Partner to verify volume, price, investment, and forecast assumptions, including analysis of the full price waterfall.
- Update and maintain monthly dashboards tracking forecast accuracy and variances.
- Communicate significant performance trends and changes to key stakeholders.
- Manage stock and depletion reporting processes by collecting, processing, and analyzing monthly data from wholesale customers.
- Provide relevant insights and updates based on stock and sales data to stakeholders.
- Maintain and manage Business Intelligence tools and Power BI dashboards, ensuring data accuracy and up-to-date information for On-Trade performance.
- Support end-of-year stock landing processes for major wholesale customers.
- Compile and consolidate commercial data for key reporting purposes.
- Prepare timely, detailed reports for internal teams.
- Develop proficiency in business intelligence tools and use data-driven insights to support sales and marketing efforts.
- Assist in training stakeholders on the use of commercial planning tools and reports, adjusting communication styles to match audience understanding.
Candidate Profile and Eligibility
- A degree or equivalent experience in Business, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, or related fields is preferred.
- Prior exposure to systems or data management in a commercial context is advantageous.
- Basic understanding of P&L and value chain concepts is beneficial.
- Strong ability to collaborate with various stakeholders to drive business improvements and efficiency.
- Interest in the wines and spirits sector is favorable.
- Advanced skills in Excel, including Pivot Tables, and formulas like VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, and SUMIFS; familiarity with VBA is a plus.
- Experience with data visualization software such as Power BI or Tableau is desirable.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) is essential.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; additional languages are an asset.
- Highly organized, proactive, and capable of working independently with rigorous attention to detail.
- Enjoys working with data, demonstrates curiosity, and quickly grasps new concepts.
- This internship requires candidates to have the legal right to work in the UK and is offered as a full-time 12-month contract.
