About the role

This opportunity is for a seasoned commercial and operations leader to help steer the expansion and performance of a major retail furniture business in the UAE. The position calls for someone who can strengthen day-to-day operations, lift sales results, and deliver an excellent customer journey across several retail outlets.

Business operations and leadership

  • Support the General Manager in managing the full business operation.
  • Translate growth and profitability goals into practical operational plans.
  • Track business performance and act quickly when improvements are needed.
  • Coordinate closely across retail, logistics, warehouse, and customer service teams.
  • Guide and develop store managers and department heads.

Commercial and sales management

  • Shape sales initiatives that expand revenue and market reach.
  • Review KPIs, customer behavior, and market performance to inform decisions.
  • Refine pricing, promotional activity, and merchandising execution.
  • Strengthen relationships with customers, developers, suppliers, and corporate accounts.
  • Spot and pursue opportunities in retail, hospitality, and project-based sales.

Retail store operations

  • Maintain strong standards in visual merchandising, service delivery, and store execution.
  • Monitor store metrics such as conversion rate, average transaction value, and sales productivity.
  • Improve customer experience and reinforce brand presence in the market.

Supply chain and inventory

  • Oversee stock planning and inventory optimization.
  • Ensure procurement, warehousing, and product delivery run efficiently.
  • Increase stock accuracy, improve turnover, and strengthen supply chain performance.
  • Introduce cost-efficient inventory control practices.

Financial management

  • Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and business planning.
  • Keep operating expenses under control.
  • Review financial and operational reports to support decision-making.
  • Work toward higher profitability and improved margins.

People management and governance

  • Hire, develop, and retain strong teams.
  • Set clear performance targets and carry out regular reviews.
  • Ensure alignment with UAE labor regulations and good HR practices.

Candidate profile

The preferred candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Retail, Supply Chain, or a related discipline. An MBA or a relevant professional qualification is considered an advantage. The role requires 8 to 15 years of retail experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership position. Experience in furniture, home furnishings, or interior retail is strongly preferred, along with proven success managing multi-store operations in the UAE. A strong commercial mindset, a record of revenue growth, and solid understanding of the UAE retail market and consumer trends are important. Excellent English communication skills are required, and native-level English would be an added benefit.
