Overview

ATS Institute of Technology is looking for a dedicated Student Success Instructor & Learning Specialist to lead the Student Success Seminar and offer academic coaching aimed at enhancing students' skills and confidence essential for college achievement, especially in a challenging nursing education setting.

Job Functions

  • Plan and instruct the Student Success Seminar course focusing on effective study methods, time and task management, organization, test readiness, critical thinking, communication, resilience, and autonomous learning.
  • Support students in developing executive function abilities, such as planning, prioritization, initiating tasks, maintaining concentration, self-assessment, and task completion.
  • Collaborate with the Student Success Department to provide targeted help to individuals or groups needing extra support and deliver workshops throughout the academic year on related themes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach according to approved syllabus and course goals, employing engaging, student-focused teaching styles.
  • Assist students in crafting practical academic success strategies and systems for managing workload and deadlines.
  • Offer coaching to individuals and small groups referred for supplementary support.
  • Enhance students’ executive-function capabilities including planning, prioritization, focus, finishing tasks, and ensuring accountability.
  • Design and execute workshops addressing college success, study techniques, executive functioning, dealing with test anxiety, and motivation.
  • Partner with faculty, student success staff, and academic leaders for early intervention and supportive plans.
  • Maintain detailed records of student interactions, referrals, progress, attendance, and coursework results.
  • Refer students to tutoring, advising, and relevant support services when necessary.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and institutional activities as directed.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in education, psychology, counseling, student affairs, higher education, or a similar area strongly preferred.
  • Minimum two years of experience in college-level instruction, academic coaching, tutoring, advising, or student success roles.
  • Flexibility to provide support during both day and evening hours.
  • Proficient knowledge of study methods, executive functioning, time management, test prep, and adult learning principles.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to efficiently manage multiple student meetings, follow-up activities, and documentation.

Compensation and Benefits

The anticipated yearly salary range is $62,000 to $65,000, subject to institutional discretion and potential changes.
