About the Education & Training Division

The Education and Training Division includes Mothercraft’s College of Early Childhood Education and its training department. The college runs an accelerated Early Childhood Education diploma program that lasts 12 months across four semesters. This diploma is recognized by the College of Early Childhood Educators and the college is registered with the Ministry of Colleges and Universities as a private career college. The division also provides professional learning for individuals and groups in the early learning and early years sectors, including home-based child care training.

Role Summary

Mothercraft is hiring Academic Faculty for its College of Early Childhood Education in Toronto. This regular, full-time position is scheduled for 37.5 hours per week and sits at Level 6. The role reports to the Manager of Academic Programs and focuses on teaching, program delivery, and training across multiple discipline areas.

What You Will Do

  • Deliver instruction and training in a range of subject areas as directed by the Manager of Academic Programs.
  • Support the planning and coordination of program delivery for the Early Childhood Education diploma, including both in-person classes and virtual synchronous sessions.
  • Develop course material and make sure it reflects current research and evolving trends before it is taught.
  • Work closely with the Manager, Academic Programs on all teaching and delivery matters, including student progress.
  • Use Moodle and other digital tools such as Zoom to teach the diploma program and assigned training sessions.
  • Teach effectively in both classroom and online formats, which is an essential part of the role.

What You Need

  • A bachelor’s degree or diploma in Early Childhood Education or a related discipline; progress toward a master’s degree is preferred.
  • Active registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators.
  • At least 2 years of full-time post-secondary experience in teaching or delivering classroom training and related materials.
  • Working knowledge of instructional design and adult learning principles for course creation and delivery.
  • A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Reference Check.
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills.
  • A flexible, cooperative approach to teamwork.
  • Strong service orientation in an academic environment.
  • Comfort working in a busy, complex, team-based setting.

Compensation and Benefits

The hiring salary range is $60,731.88 to $70,404.90, with an overall salary range of $60,731.88 to $81,618.57.
