Role Overview
As a College Admissions Researcher, you will engage in thorough research utilizing both our internal database and public internet sources to compile customized information that addresses college admissions questions posed by students, parents, and counselors affiliated with Empowerly.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform research on college admissions processes and high school extracurricular opportunities, delivering tailored and thorough results to families.
- Analyze diverse data sources to prepare well-organized, insightful advice for high school families.
- Collaborate closely with the Research Manager, families, and counselors to consistently provide detailed findings.
- Maintain and update shared spreadsheets with each research request to support a collective and current resource pool for the team.
Candidate Requirements
- Familiarity with the U.S. college admissions and education systems is essential.
- Strong proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work autonomously in a virtual setting, including self-managing work quality and meeting 72-hour deadlines.
- Commitment to spend sufficient time (approximately 0.5 to 2 hours) researching each request and adaptability to identify alternative solutions when needed.
- Proficiency with G-Suite or willingness to learn it to meet client expectations.
- Responsiveness via email and Slack communication channels.
Compensation
This contract position offers payment at $20 per hour.
