Job description
Role Overview
This position seeks a skilled Cohesity Storage Engineer for a one-year onsite contract in Montgomery, Alabama, with potential direct hire after 90 days. Candidates must be U.S. citizens. Preferred alternative locations include Oklahoma City, OK; Ogden, UT; and Mechanicsburg, PA, involving approximately 25% travel.
Key Responsibilities
- Leverage expertise in Cohesity platforms including DataProtect, Data Cloud, Helios, SmartFiles, and cluster management.
- Architect and administer enterprise backup and recovery infrastructures with policies, retention schedules, and cyber recovery approaches.
- Lead disaster recovery and business continuity planning by creating recovery runbooks and validating procedures through testing.
- Execute VMware management including vCenter integration, VM backup handling, and protection group oversight.
- Create and sustain detailed documentation covering operational and technical activities.
- Facilitate integration of Cohesity with enterprise systems such as Active Directory, DNS, and security platforms.
- Employ REST APIs, automation scripts, and integration tools like ServiceNow and Morpheus.
- Troubleshoot and maintain network components including TCP/IP, routing, DNS, and firewall configurations.
- Ensure compliance with security standards including RBAC, audit logs, and federal security protocols.
- Handle cloud backup and data protection across hybrid cloud infrastructures.
- Provide operational support aligned with regulated environment requirements, focusing on documentation and security adherence.
- Lead technical engagements with customers, gathering specifications and conducting training sessions.
Required Skills and Experience
- Significant experience within Federal or Department of Defense environments, familiar with RMF and DISA compliance.
- Proven background in enterprise backup and recovery architecture design.
- Hands-on expertise in disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
- Knowledge of cloud-based backup and data protection within hybrid clouds.
- Understanding of security compliance including RBAC, audit logging, PKI authentication, and FIPS standards.
- Proficiency in managing Cohesity product suite components.
- Advanced VMware administration skills including vCenter and ESXi management.
- Competence in REST API usage, automation, and scripting integrations.
- Strong networking knowledge in TCP/IP, routing, DNS, and firewalls.
- Excellent communication skills for technical discussions and coordination with stakeholders.
