CMM Specialist

Role Overview

This position focuses on advancing laboratory capabilities to support new business initiatives, alongside conducting engineering qualifications related to coordinate measuring machines (CMM).

Primary Responsibilities

• Take full ownership and practical application of the CMM metrology system to facilitate process validations.
• Possess a strong grasp of CAD drawings, including a thorough understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
• Design fixtures that enable precise part setups and ensure results are reliably repeatable.
• Develop programs that allow collaborative work with external vendors.
• Confidently carry out technical discussions with vendors, particularly to resolve data inconsistencies and conduct thorough root cause analyses.
• Bring knowledge of process capability analysis and Statistical Process Control (SPC), which will be advantageous.

Mandatory Qualifications and Skills

• Possession of a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar technical field.
• Minimum of two years’ experience in mechanical design.
• Experience in validation processes is required.
• Proficiency with CAD tools such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with DMIS language or similar programming tools for CMM operations.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and mechanical systems.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication capabilities.

Preferred Experience

• Background working within laboratories, research and development, pharmaceutical, medical device, or scientific sectors.
• Experience with test equipment, instrumentation, and experimental setups.
• Knowledge of GD&T, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), and Design for Manufacture (DFM).
• Ability to manage several projects concurrently.
