Club and Activities Manager

Job Overview

The Club and Activities Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations of Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) facilities, ensuring effective coordination of activities under general supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead exercise sessions, provide guidance, testing, and prescription for MWR participants, and conduct group exercise classes.
• Must comply with the installation's minimum age requirement for serving alcoholic beverages.
• Prepare drinks following established recipes and possess knowledge of bar terminology.
• Implement alcohol safety protocols to prevent over-intoxication and appropriately manage intoxicated patrons according to installation guidelines.
• Serve drinks including beer and wine, manage alcohol purchases using point-of-sale software and cash registers.
• Explain and serve food items from the venue's menu.
• Maintain cleanliness of bar tools, glassware, utensils, and equipment.
• Open and close the bartending station efficiently.
• Arrange liquor storage according to bar standards.
• Adhere to sanitation regulations in compliance with Army and Preventative Medicine requirements.
• Operate bar management procedures, including inventory control, supply ordering, and ensuring adequate supplies for special events.
• Supervise staff to guarantee excellent customer service delivery.
• Manage cash drawers and inspect equipment to ensure proper functionality.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

• Preferably certified in CPR and first aid.
• Knowledgeable in exercise science, health, and fitness.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• At least two years experience coordinating organized team sports, recreational club activities, and social event planning. MWR armed forces experience is an advantage.

Working Conditions

• Work may be conducted in remote and potentially uncomfortable environments.
• Long working hours, exposure to various weather and potentially hazardous conditions.
• Flexibility required to relocate or move on short notice under challenging circumstances.
