Role overview
This 12-month contract is for a Clinical Trial Manager / Clinical Trial Budgets & Contracts Specialist supporting a clinical research program in Metro Toronto (Burlington). The position follows a hybrid setup, with on-site presence required for about 50% of the month. Compensation is CAD 50 to 60 per hour.
In this role, you will help steer trial budgets and study contracts for multi-million-dollar clinical programs. The work involves close coordination with cross-functional stakeholders in a fast-moving environment focused on advancing innovative therapies for patients.
Key accountabilities
- Keep trial execution aligned with GCP-ICH standards, applicable global and local regulations, SOPs, and the approved protocol while coordinating CRO and internal team activities.
- Build, maintain, and review the R/OPU trial budget, ensuring sound financial oversight and accurate planning; revise budgets promptly when trial conditions change.
- Make sure trial-specific training for internal and external partners is delivered in accordance with the Trial Training Plan.
- Manage vendor-service outsourcing for the R/OPU in line with operating models and governance requirements.
- Track trial conduct to ensure compliance with GCP, regulatory obligations, SOPs, and risk controls; work with partner functions on budget oversight, clinical quality monitoring, and safety reporting.
- Follow patient recruitment and endpoint progress closely, and take proactive corrective action when needed during the trial.
Education and background
A university degree is required, such as a master’s degree or an equivalent qualification, along with several years of relevant experience. The preferred academic focus is Biomedical Life Sciences.
