Role overview
University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is looking for an enthusiastic, highly driven Clinical Research Practitioner / Research Nurse to join the Stroke Research Centre. The position supports delivery across the research portfolio in alignment with the National Institute for Health Research and the North London Research Delivery Network.
What you will do
You will work alongside the Lead Research Practitioner and the Academic Research Lead to help deliver the stroke research portfolio successfully. A key part of the role is finding suitable patients, enrolling them into studies, and supporting trial processes within the Emergency Stroke Unit and the Hyper-Acute Stroke Unit at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery.
You will also register and randomise participants according to study procedures, and prepare as well as administer investigational medicinal products in line with trial requirements. In addition, you will help ensure that all clinical trials are conducted in accordance with ICH-GCP, the relevant research protocols, Trust policies, local standard operating procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Experience and working style
The role requires prior experience in a clinical research setting, and experience within a stroke environment would be especially useful. Nursing registration would be a plus. The successful applicant should be comfortable working in a busy, fast-moving setting and be willing to collaborate flexibly within a multidisciplinary research team.
