Job description

Overview

This role offers a permanent position working 37.5 hours per week within an established and growing clinical research nursing team focused on lung cancer trials at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust, a leading cancer center in Manchester, UK. The post involves managing the patient pathway across a diverse portfolio of academic and commercial clinical studies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate patient management for lung cancer clinical trials, ensuring adherence to trial protocols.
  • Engage in all trial phases, including feasibility assessments, trial initiation, patient recruitment, data management, and protocol amendments.
  • Provide patient-centered support, maintaining safety and well-being within regulatory frameworks including ICH/GCP and Trust SOPs.
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams and clinical trial coordinators to ensure quality research delivery and effective communication with patients and their families.
  • Promote clinical research nursing and clinical trials internally and externally through participation in events and meetings at various levels.
  • Contribute to divisional, Trust-wide, and national objectives and strategies related to clinical research.

Requirements and Skills

  • Background in oncology nursing with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to engage in complex clinical discussions with patients and families.
  • Experience in clinical research and oncology is desirable.
  • Flexibility in working arrangements is required.
