Role overview
The Clinical Research Assistant I supports day-to-day clinical research operations within the neurosurgery area. This role focuses on collecting, organizing, and maintaining study information, helping with grant-related paperwork, and providing administrative support to clinical research coordinators and team members.
Key responsibilities
- Support ongoing clinical studies by handling tasks such as answering calls, checking participant eligibility, enrolling subjects with the sponsoring organization, and administering lifestyle questionnaires.
- Capture study information accurately and enter it into the appropriate database systems.
- Help prepare and assemble submissions for grant applications, IRB documentation, and Grants and Contracts Office filings.
- Keep source records and participant files organized according to hospital procedures, and verify data completeness and accuracy through chart review.
- Receive, secure, transport, and ship clinical samples according to protocol requirements.
- Assist with planning and preparation for monitoring visits.
- Carry out additional duties as needed to support the research team.
Qualifications
A science-related associate degree is preferred. Candidates with a high school diploma or GED and at least two years of relevant experience may also be considered. Prior experience in a research setting is preferred.

Compensation
The hourly pay range for this position is $16.50 to $24.5479. Final pay depends on factors such as experience, education, and operational needs. Bonuses, incentives, differentials, and other forms of compensation or benefits are not included in the stated range.
