Role Overview
We seek a Clinical Quality Manager to lead and enhance clinical performance nationally. Reporting to the Director of Clinical Documentation & Coding, this remote role acts as a technical authority on clinical quality, value-based care, and documentation improvement. The goal is to integrate clinical data with operational excellence to maximize quality scores and reimbursement through thorough analysis and change management.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive clinical audits of electronic health records to pinpoint documentation and workflow gaps.
- Provide training and feedback to providers ensuring compliance with clinical documentation and coding standards based on evidence.
- Identify opportunities and implement pay-for-performance and value-based incentive programs aligned with payer contracts.
- Create and analyze data reports to highlight performance trends and potential issues for leadership.
- Recommend process improvements including automation and software upgrades to optimize quality reporting and auditing workflows.
- Develop a unified clinical strategy aligning national clinical guidelines with regulatory and payer requirements while supporting organizational goals.
- Collaborate effectively with IT, Credentialing, and Clinical Operations to ensure clinical guidance supports both business objectives and patient care.
Minimum Qualifications
- Proven expertise in HEDIS, CMS QPP, Advanced APMs, MIPS, and payer-specific quality and value-based reimbursement programs.
- Strong technical skills in navigating EMRs, data analytics tools such as Tableau, and productivity software including Google Sheets and Microsoft Office.
- At least five years of experience in physician revenue cycle management emphasizing clinical quality at a national scale.
- Five or more years leading clinical quality initiatives and managing change in a rapidly growing environment.
- Associate degree or higher in Business, Healthcare Administration/Management, HIM, Informatics, or related fields.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications such as CPHQ or CHQM preferred; other relevant certifications considered.
- Coding credentials like CPC, CPMA, CCS, RHIT, or CDIP are advantageous.
- Experience with Athena Practice (GE Centricity) EMR is highly desirable.
- Background in vascular or vein-specific clinical settings is a plus.
- Clinical background as LPN, RN, NP/PA, or FMG/IMG adds value.
