Role Overview

The Clinical Operations Specialist II plays a vital role in daily clinical service operations, handling moderately complex challenges and exercising sound clinical judgment within established procedures. This position requires efficient workflow management, proactive priority adjustments, and strong collaboration between internal teams and external providers. You will be accountable for high-quality clinical data and operational excellence under guidance with growing autonomy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and address inefficiencies in medical record processing and patient intake workflows, recommending and documenting improvements to share with the team.
  • Apply informed clinical judgment to navigate ambiguous patient scenarios, choosing appropriate next steps within defined protocols.
  • Develop productive relationships with colleagues and external partners, adapting communication style to foster clarity, trust, and alignment.
  • Support clinical compliance by helping maintain documentation, assisting with audits, and ensuring adherence to HIPAA and safety standards.
  • Contribute to a positive team environment by communicating updates clearly and tailoring information to audiences.
  • Embrace feedback for continuous improvement and share learnings to mentor peers and enhance team performance.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of two years of experience in clinical operations, nursing support, case management, or healthcare administration.
  • Possession of a clinical degree such as RN or BSN.
  • Proactive anticipation of patient and team needs with empathetic communication guiding operational decisions.
  • Adaptability and resilience in addressing novel clinical challenges and ambiguous situations.
  • Commitment to treating patients and colleagues with patience, respect, and equity, actively checking biases to ensure fair care.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to convert imperfect information into practical solutions.
  • Rigorous commitment to HIPAA, clinical quality, and safeguarding sensitive medical data.
  • Ability to autonomously manage assignments, with precision in handling clinical details.
