Your Opportunity
Sunrise is seeking a Clinical Operations Director to lead and expand the operational framework of its growing clinical business. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this executive will be responsible for the quality, efficiency, scalability, and financial health of clinical operations. This role focuses on optimizing existing processes, enhancing underperforming areas, and establishing the operational infrastructure to support substantial future growth. The Director will manage daily clinical operations, care coordination, patient conversion from referral to treatment, and clinical logistics, collaborating closely with Medical Directors, Legal & Compliance, Managed Care Contracting, Revenue Cycle Management, Product, Technology, and Finance. The objective is to translate business goals into operational execution, ensuring clinical operations can manage increased patient volume while maintaining high patient outcomes, provider satisfaction, operational excellence, and financial performance.
What You’ll Do
Clinical Provider Operations
- Spearhead the operational infrastructure supporting the care team to deliver high-quality care at scale.
- Oversee daily clinical operations for Nurse Practitioners, Physicians, and Sleep Technologists nationwide.
- Ensure clinical protocols and standards are implemented through scalable workflows, processes, and systems.
- Develop and maintain provider capacity planning models to match clinical supply with patient demand.
- Optimize provider staffing, productivity, utilization, and deployment strategies.
- Collaborate with Finance and executive leadership on workforce planning, budgeting, and cost-per-patient analysis.
Care Coordination Operations
- Lead teams and processes that connect patients, providers, diagnostics, and treatments.
- Manage care coordination operations and service delivery throughout the patient journey.
- Establish and monitor operational standards and performance metrics.
- Identify workflow inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and opportunities for automation and scaling.
- Create standardized processes and operating procedures to maintain quality and efficiency with growing patient volumes.
- Ensure seamless collaboration across clinical, operational, and support functions.
Patient Experience & Success
- Take ownership of the entire conversion funnel from referral to treatment, including all points of potential drop-off.
- Define and track key experience metrics (e.g., NPS, contact resolution rate, time-to-resolution) and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead cross-functional analysis to identify and address conversion gaps, working with care coordination, patient success, logistics, and clinical teams.
- Establish robust feedback mechanisms between patient-facing teams and care/product/tech teams to ensure insights lead to actionable improvements.
Clinical Logistics & Equipment Operations
- Oversee operational performance for home sleep testing and PAP therapy fulfillment.
- Manage end-to-end logistics for diagnostic and treatment equipment.
- Monitor and enhance metrics related to delivery, returns, utilization, and cost-efficiency.
- Collaborate with vendors and supply chain partners for operational reliability and scalability.
- Ensure logistics performance aligns with clinical timelines and patient experience expectations.
- Develop scalable processes to support growth while maintaining operational quality and cost control.
Strategic Operations & Business Performance
- Act as the liaison between clinical operations and the company's growth objectives.
- Translate revenue targets and growth plans into operational requirements, staffing needs, and capacity forecasts.
- Develop operational models to support new markets and service offerings.
- Create and maintain reporting frameworks for performance visibility across all operational functions.
Leadership Responsibilities
- Directly manage a growing, multi-functional team.
- Serve as a player-coach, combining strategic vision with hands-on operational engagement.
- Build, mentor, and develop high-performing leaders and teams.

Compensation
