Job Overview
This permanent part-time position is tailored for a Clinical Educator dedicated to enhancing the skills of Registered Nurses (RNs) within the Cardiac Surgical Unit (CTU) and the Pre/Post Cardiac Investigations Unit (CIU) at Allevia Hospital Epsom. The CTU, adjacent to a 12-bed ICU/HDU, requires close collaboration with the Critical Care Educator. This role is 0.5 full-time equivalent, primarily on weekdays with some possible weekend work when courses are scheduled. Working hours are flexible and will be finalized during the interview stage.
About the Team
You will become part of a dynamic and extensive Clinical Education team. This team works collaboratively with Charge Nurse Managers across various hospital locations to ensure clinical training aligns with best practices, and staff receive continuous support, upskilling, and professional development. Leadership includes the Clinical Practice Manager, with the team comprising Clinical Educators, Clinical Specialists, and Clinical Coaches.
Candidate Profile
- Registered Nurse with a current New Zealand Annual Practising Certificate (APC).
- Recent clinical experience in a cardiac surgical setting within a New Zealand hospital or comparable environments such as Australia, the UK, or Ireland.
- Proven ability to teach and mentor fellow RNs in clinical settings, demonstrated through roles like Clinical Coach or Team Leader.
- Postgraduate qualifications in Cardiac Nursing or Adult Education are preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, with an open style that encourages and inspires others.
