Job description

Role overview

DataDirect Networks (DDN) is a long-established technology company focused on AI infrastructure and high-performance data storage. It supports demanding data centers and workloads across fields such as life sciences, healthcare, financial services, autonomous vehicles, government, academia, research, and manufacturing.

This opening is for a quota-carrying Client Director focused on Strategic AI Infrastructure in the DACH region. The position is centered on generating revenue, building strategic enterprise relationships, and growing DDN’s footprint with organizations that operate large-scale AI and high-performance computing environments.

The role involves collaborating with enterprise customers, research organizations, and cloud companies to deliver high-performance data infrastructure that can support advanced AI workloads. You will also work with internal engineering teams, solutions architects, and channel partners to shape and present complex infrastructure solutions for GPU computing, model training, and data-intensive use cases.

Key responsibilities

  • Own the strategic AI infrastructure sales motion across the assigned DACH territory and expand adoption of DDN’s solutions among enterprise and research accounts.
  • Create and implement territory and account plans aimed at organizations investing in large-scale AI and high-performance computing.
  • Find, assess, and develop new business opportunities in sectors including financial services, healthcare, telecommunications, technology, research, and large enterprises.
  • Establish trusted relationships with senior technical stakeholders, AI infrastructure teams, and executive-level decision-makers.
  • Work alongside solutions architects and engineering teams to design and present storage and infrastructure solutions suited to AI workloads.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations, demos, and proposals that clearly communicate the value of AI-optimized storage platforms.
  • Manage the end-to-end enterprise sales cycle, including pipeline creation, forecasting, contract discussions, and closing deals.
  • Build productive relationships with channel partners, system integrators, OEM partners, and distributors to broaden market coverage.
  • Track market developments in AI infrastructure, GPU computing, large-model training, and high-performance data environments.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and customer meetings to create opportunities and strengthen market visibility.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of experience in enterprise technology sales, ideally in storage, compute, networking, or infrastructure platforms.
  • Proven background in selling AI infrastructure, HPC solutions, cloud platforms, or enterprise data center technologies.
  • Experience handling complex enterprise sales cycles with both technical buyers and senior business stakeholders.
  • Preferred: prior success selling AI infrastructure, GPU clusters, or high-performance computing systems.
  • Preferred: familiarity with the AI ecosystem, including NVIDIA, Intel, AMD, Cerebras, Graphcore, or Google TPU technologies.
  • Preferred: understanding of enterprise storage technologies such as SAN, NAS, object storage, and parallel file systems.
  • Preferred: experience working with channel partners, system integrators, and distributor networks.
  • Preferred: exposure to Kubernetes, OpenStack, and large-scale AI data center environments.
  • Successful candidates are expected to show self-direction, strong achievement focus, structured problem solving, and an innovative mindset.
