About the Role

As a Clerk of Works based in Dublin, you will play an essential role in ensuring construction projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with contractual and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the NEC4 Project Supervisor in managing all on-site construction assurance activities.
- Inspect and oversee workmanship, quality, and safety across civil engineering works including earthworks, drainage systems, bridges, and structures.
- Ensure all works comply with designated project requirements, specifications, Irish Building Regulations, and Health & Safety standards.
- Support and help lead the Engineering Assurance sub-function to promote high-quality project delivery.
- Contribute to financial management, resource allocation, and scheduling for the project.
- Manage and coordinate daily operations of the Clerks of Works team.
- Serve as a critical liaison between site teams, project leaders, and stakeholders to facilitate effective communication.
- Promote knowledge sharing and collaboration among consultants and client teams.
- Support reporting obligations aligned with governance and project management office requirements.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and implementation of best practices on site.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of five years' experience in construction supervision or management, preferably in major road or infrastructure projects.
- Strong expertise in civil and structural engineering works, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Familiarity with Irish Building Regulations, planning procedures, and health and safety legislation.
- Proactive problem solver with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills to build effective working relationships.
- Capability to manage multiple priorities and offer team leadership support.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering.
- Safepass accreditation mandatory.
- Chartered, Incorporated, or Associate Engineer status preferred or progress towards such accreditation encouraged.
