About the Role
dnata, a globally recognised ground services provider, is seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Clerical Officer to join its expanding Melbourne Cargo team at Melbourne Airport. This position suits someone who is upbeat, eager to learn, comfortable using a computer, and ready to contribute as part of a close-knit operational team.
What You’ll Do
- Handle most incoming telephone enquiries and provide timely assistance.
- Manage customer service inboxes and respond to email queries.
- Contact agents, consignees, and personal effects customers regarding shipments.
- Work with the warehouse team on bond checks and monitor progress.
- Carry out track-and-trace activity for cargo movements.
- Investigate missing and found cargo cases.
- Support quarantine inspections, destructions, seizures, and abandoned shipments.
- Help organise rotation setups.
- Assist in training new customer service staff.
Skills, Experience and Licences
The role calls for a current Victorian driver’s licence, prior experience in an operational setting with SOPs, solid computer literacy, and strong written and verbal communication. You should bring a high standard of customer service, understand the importance of meeting SLAs, work safely at all times, and contribute positively as a dependable team player who can also work independently.
Eligibility and Requirements
Applicants must be Australian or New Zealand citizens, or hold Australian permanent residency. You must be prepared to complete a pre-employment medical assessment and undergo an Australian Federal Police security check. A valid driver’s licence may be required for some duties. You should also be available to work on a rotating roster and possess basic to intermediate computer skills, excellent communication ability, and strong customer service capabilities.
