MoveSmart Rentals partners with landlords using proprietary technology to streamline leasing, reduce vacancies, and manage applications. They syndicate rental listings across MLS and over 20 other platforms, overseeing the entire leasing process from listing through move-in.

Role Overview

We are seeking a dependable and meticulous Cleaner to service residential rental properties. This role includes performing cleaning tasks related to move-in, move-out, rental turnover, and preparing listings for showings or inspections. The ideal person should be professional, well-organized, and able to work independently while following detailed cleaning checklists and documenting completed work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend scheduled appointments at residential rental units to carry out cleaning services for various needs including move-in and move-out cleaning.
  • Perform thorough cleaning tasks such as kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, living areas, hallways, and appliances according to company standards.
  • Remove dirt, dust, trash, and any leftover items as required.
  • Wipe down all surfaces including counters, sinks, mirrors, doors, baseboards, and high-touch points.
  • Vacuum, sweep, mop, and maintain floors.
  • Clean interior parts of appliances like refrigerators, ovens, microwaves, dishwashers, washers, and dryers.
  • Assess and report any areas needing further cleaning, junk removal, repairs, maintenance, or follow-up actions before rental listing or tenant move-in.
  • Capture clear before-and-after photographs and videos to document cleaning results.
  • Provide detailed updates, notes, and photos after each appointment.
  • Communicate professionally with landlords, applicants, tenants, and internal teams as appropriate.
  • Follow company procedures, cleaning checklists, access protocols, and appointment information diligently.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in roles such as cleaner, housekeeper, or residential cleaning contractor.
  • In-depth knowledge of residential cleaning methods and standards.
  • Reliable means of transportation.
  • Own necessary cleaning tools and supplies for each appointment.
  • Comfortable working independently at various residential locations.
  • Possession of an iPhone 13 or equivalent smartphone with a high-quality camera for photographic documentation.
  • Ability to produce clear notes and updates about cleaning jobs.
  • Professionalism, punctuality, reliability, and keen attention to detail.
  • Capacity to follow instructions, checklists, and property access details accurately.
  • Effective and respectful communication skills with landlords, applicants, tenants, and team members.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience with move-in, move-out, or rental property turnover cleaning.
  • Experience preparing rental properties for listing photos, showings, inspections, and move-in readiness.
  • Ability to spot and report potential property damages, maintenance issues, junk, pest problems, or access challenges.
  • Comfort working independently on-site for property management, leasing, or cleaning service companies.
