Role overview
Arriva is hiring a Cleaner Fueller Shunter for its Tamworth location. This is a full-time, site-based position focused on keeping vehicles and workshop areas clean, safe, and ready for service.
Working hours and contract
The role is a 38-hour full-time contract. Standard working hours are 3:30 pm to 12:00 am from Monday to Saturday, with Sunday hours of 2:30 pm to 8:30 pm. The position includes a 30-minute unpaid break and a 15-minute paid break, usually taken between 9:15 pm and 10:00 pm. Overtime is available.
Pay and leave
The pay rate is £13.21 per hour. The role comes with 20 days of annual leave plus 8 bank holidays.

What the job involves
- Keeping the workshop clean, tidy, and well organised at all times.
- Washing vehicles to Arriva’s standards and making sure records are completed accurately.
- Refuelling the fleet so vehicles are ready for the following day’s service.
- Maintaining a clean fuelling area and removing any hazards before starting work.
- Carrying out daily sweeping and mopping, with periodic deep cleaning of interiors.
- Following all company rules, procedures, health and safety requirements, and statutory working practices.
Requirements
- Prior experience is helpful but not essential, as full training will be provided.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach are needed.
- A full UK manual driving licence with 6 points or fewer is required.
- You must be able to pass a pre-employment medical assessment for PCV work.
