Role Overview

This full-time, on-site Cleaner position based in Wycheproof, Victoria involves upholding cleanliness and hygiene standards across various council-owned properties such as offices, community buildings, and shared spaces. Responsibilities include routine cleaning activities like sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, sanitizing surfaces, cleaning restrooms and kitchens, emptying bins, and managing basic waste disposal. The role requires restocking cleaning supplies, identifying and reporting maintenance or safety concerns, and adhering to established cleaning schedules and procedures. The Cleaner operates both independently and collaboratively to maintain a safe, neat, and welcoming environment for staff, visitors, and the community.

Qualifications and Skills

• Proficient in performing cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing to maintain cleanliness.
• Knowledgeable of correct and safe usage of cleaning chemicals and equipment, with an awareness of workplace health and safety standards.
• Strong attention to detail and reliability to follow schedules and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work cooperatively with colleagues, supervisors, and the public.
• Physical ability to perform manual tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for long durations.
• Experience in commercial or facility cleaning roles is preferred, especially in council or community environments.
• A commitment to uphold high hygiene standards and foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful workplace culture.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license and willingness to travel between council locations as necessary.
