Job Overview
Farrans Construction is looking to recruit an experienced Civils Foreperson for a wastewater and utilities project based in North Dublin. This role involves overseeing multidisciplinary work streams aligned with company strategies including logistics, production, design, assembly, SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, Quality), reporting, and digital processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily activities of civils and utilities teams on-site.
- Coordinate operations with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure smooth workflow.
- Drive productivity initiatives and lead programme delivery to meet project timelines.
- Maintain compliance with quality assurance procedures and health and safety regulations.
- Manage permits, inspections, and daily record-keeping diligently.
- Maintain effective communication with engineers, site management, and client representatives.
- Support implementation of temporary works and ensure safe work systems are in place.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- Preferably residing along the Newry to Dublin corridor.
- Possess significant expertise in wastewater and utilities projects, with experience on Uisce Éireann schemes as advantageous.
- Have between 8 to 15+ years of solid civils industry experience.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple subcontractor teams efficiently.
- Excellent communication and coordination capabilities.
- Comfortable operating within a large-scale project delivery team environment.
Technical Expertise Needed
- Experienced in PE pipelaying on live and public roads with traffic management (TM).
- Proficient in chamber construction on active roads with traffic management protocols.
- Skilled in ductile iron pipe installation within live wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) sites.
- Competent with horizontal directional drilling (HDD) on minor roads adhering to traffic management.
- Coordinating utilities and reinstatement activities effectively.
- Managing traffic management interfaces during road-based civil works.
- Carrying out reinforced concrete works within WWTP environments.
- Implement temporary works associated with utilities and wastewater infrastructure.
- Knowledgeable in permit acquisition systems and safety documentation.
- Experienced with quality assurance documentation and conducting inspections.
