Role Overview
The Civil Engineering Technician will play a crucial role in supporting civil engineers by assisting in overseeing the execution of civil and construction activities. This ensures all tasks align with approved plans, quality benchmarks, and safety protocols.
Key Duties
- Support civil engineers in supervising daily construction tasks on-site.
- Examine civil drawings and technical specifications prior to commencement of work.
- Oversee excavation, backfilling, concrete, masonry, and finishing operations.
- Confirm measurements, levels, and material quantities at the worksite.
- Facilitate coordination with subcontractors and site personnel on civil work matters.
- Assist with preparation of quantity take-offs, site progress documentation, and records.
- Ensure all work aligns with approved designs and technical specifications.
- Report any technical issues or discrepancies to the assigned engineer.
- Participate in material inspections and supervise relevant technical testing procedures.
- Adhere strictly to health, safety, and quality standards throughout project execution.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Fresh graduates or those with up to 5 years of experience in civil construction projects are eligible.
- Proficient understanding of civil drawings, materials, and construction techniques.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD software and Microsoft Office suite.
- Competence in interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
