Job description
Programme Overview
This apprenticeship is part of a long-term effort to grow civil engineering talent within Glanua. Based in Dungarvan, County Waterford, the role is being opened again for the September 2026 intake after strong results from the earlier cohorts.
Training Structure
The apprenticeship runs in partnership with ATU Sligo and lasts for 3 years, leading to a QQI Level 7 Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering.
- Live online classes take place every Monday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.
- Once a month, learners attend practical labs and workshops in Sligo.
- The rest of the week, from Tuesday to Friday, is spent gaining hands-on work experience with Glanua.
- The programme also includes regular assignments and examinations after Christmas.
Requirements
Applicants should bring a positive approach and a genuine interest in learning. The role also requires the ability to travel to different sites as needed.
Eligibility
Candidates must be at least 18 years old and meet one of the following academic requirements: a pass in Leaving Cert Mathematics or a QQI Level 5 qualification, or an equivalent qualification.
