Overview

Join a leading engineering firm renowned for designing and advising on some of New Zealand's most technically demanding and stimulating projects. The Energy and Industrial team works closely with clients in manufacturing, fuel, industrial infrastructure, and energy transition sectors, helping to develop infrastructure critical to community and industry growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop civil engineering design solutions for projects in the Energy and Industrial sectors, including industrial infrastructure, fuel terminals, and manufacturing plants.
  • Design and implement earthworks, drainage and stormwater management systems, retaining walls, underground utilities, pavements, and various site development tasks, focusing on practical solutions tailored to site conditions and project goals.
  • Create and assess design documentation such as drawings, technical specifications, calculations, and reports utilizing Civil 3D, CAD software, and other relevant tools.
  • Collaborate extensively with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality delivery of project outcomes.
  • Provide ongoing project support through design, construction monitoring, and implementation phases by working with site teams and contractors.
  • Coordinate with teams both within New Zealand and abroad to innovate and deliver sustainable engineering solutions.

Candidate Profile

  • Possess between 2 to 5 years of civil engineering experience with a focus on design and project execution.
  • Demonstrated ability in designing earthworks, drainage/stormwater systems, retaining structures, underground services, and other civil infrastructure components.
  • Experience in sectors such as Energy & Industrial, manufacturing, fuel, or water infrastructure is advantageous but not mandatory; candidates from land development, civil construction, or project engineering backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
  • Familiarity with collaborating with contractors and site personnel during construction and delivery phases is highly valued.
  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
  • Proficient in Civil 3D, CAD, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent communication skills that foster strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • A problem-solving approach characterized by collaboration, practicality, commercial insight, and eagerness to learn within the Energy & Industrial domain.
