Job description

Overview

Broxbourne Council is seeking diligent and committed individuals to fill the role of Civil Enforcement Officer based in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire (EN8 9XQ). This permanent, full-time position offers an annual salary of up to £31,324.80. Working 40 hours per week, the role is pivotal in maintaining safety and order across Broxbourne’s streets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with parking regulations both on-street and off-street.
  • Manage pay and display car parks and on-street parking areas.
  • Promote safety near schools, ensuring children’s safety.
  • Maintain clear access for emergency vehicles.
  • Improve access for less mobile residents by managing disabled bays and facilities.
  • Deliver excellent customer service, providing guidance and advice to the public, including in challenging circumstances.

Candidate Requirements

  • Strong interpersonal and customer care skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Flexibility to work on varied rota schedules including weekends and bank holidays.
  • Capable of working outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Possession of a valid manual driving licence.
  • Successful completion of a standard Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
  • Fluent English communication skills to interact clearly with the public.
