Job description
Role overview
This position is for a community-facing Civil Enforcement Officer who will spend most of the day outdoors patrolling streets and car parks, helping motorists understand parking rules, and supporting a fair and safe parking environment. The role suits someone approachable, confident, and comfortable working with the public in a visible local service role. You may also recognise this type of work as traffic warden or parking attendant duties.
Working arrangement and location
This is a home-deployed role. Officers will begin their shifts from home and travel directly to their assigned patrol areas. The preferred base is within or near the New Forest area to keep travel times reasonable and support operational coverage. Suitable locations include Totton, New Milton, Ringwood, Lymington, and nearby areas.
What you will do
Your day-to-day work will involve patrolling streets and car parks, guiding members of the public on correct and safe parking, issuing enforcement notices where required, reporting abandoned vehicles, and responding to local resident enquiries.
What the employer is looking for
The ideal candidate will have strong communication and people skills, be happy to work outside in all weather conditions, and bring a professional, dependable, and community-focused attitude. You should also be comfortable working on your own as well as collaborating with others when needed.
Benefits and perks
Employees can expect flexible shifts that support work-life balance, full training and development, and a uniform provided for the role. Additional benefits include competitive leave, family-friendly policies, health and wellbeing support, gym discounts, retail/travel/leisure savings, greener travel schemes, a pension, death-in-service cover, and recognition for good work.
Additional information
All applicants must hold a valid UK provisional driving licence or a full UK driving licence. All offers are conditional on DBS clearance. The employer states that it is committed to inclusion and equal opportunity.
