Children’s English Musical Theatre Instructor (Project Base)

About the Role

Thoughtful Theatre is seeking a Children’s English Musical Theatre Instructor on a project basis to teach junior and primary level students, primarily on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage theatre programs, guiding students to create 10-15 minute mini-musical theatre performances.
• Teach students to explore body movement, vocal techniques, spatial awareness, and different theatrical expressions.
• Deliver foundational lessons in acting, singing, and dancing.
• Write original scripts and oversee production of performances.
• Foster a safe, welcoming, and collaborative learning environment for all students.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Musical Theatre, Drama, Performing Arts, Education, or a related discipline.
• Prior experience teaching drama or theatre to children is highly preferred.
• A strong enthusiasm for performing arts combined with solid knowledge of child development.
• Engaging and innovative teaching methods that motivate young learners.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively for lesson planning and execution.
• Qualities of patience, empathy, and skill in creating a nurturing educational atmosphere.
