Childcare Caregiver

Role overview

A local employer in Picayune is hiring a childcare caregiver to support children in a childcare setting. This full-time role focuses on hands-on daily care, including dressing, feeding, bathing, supervising play, and supporting learning activities. Workdays and hours will be scheduled separately.

Key duties

The person in this role will provide attentive, nurturing care to infants and toddlers from 6 weeks to 3 years old. Responsibilities include managing daily routines such as feeding, diapering, naps, and playtime, while also keeping the environment clean, safe, and well organized. The caregiver will also help document children’s development and milestones and keep parents updated and involved.

Required background

A high school diploma is required, along with at least 6 months of childcare experience. The employer prefers candidates with a CDA credential, experience in licensed childcare (especially with infants and toddlers), and a strong understanding of child development and best practices.

Additional qualifications

Candidates should be able to lift up to 40 lbs and handle the physical demands of the position. CPR and First Aid certification is preferred, though the employer is open to someone willing to obtain it. A clean background check is also expected.
