Job description

Overview

This contract role is for a specialist focused on child and online safety within digital environments. The work is fully remote and requires a commitment of 10 to 40 hours per week. Compensation is set at $50 to $90 per hour.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build detailed classification systems covering self-harm, suicide prevention, eating disorders, and emotional dependency as they appear in online and digital spaces.
  • Define strong standards for safe digital support and clinical protection for young people and adolescents.
  • Develop methods to detect, review, and flag online content or guidance that could be harmful to minors facing mental-health crises.
  • Create and improve decision rubrics and escalation paths for individuals at risk in online settings.
  • Work closely with project leaders to make sure evaluation criteria and policy guidance reflect up-to-date research and accepted clinical practice.
  • Contribute expertise on CSAM-adjacent policies and online exploitation patterns to strengthen child safety processes.
  • Provide precise written and spoken feedback that helps shape AI safety systems and related frameworks.

Requirements

  • Proven background in adolescent mental health, suicide prevention, eating-disorder intervention, or a closely related area.
  • Licensed therapist, psychiatrist, clinician, or other mental-health professional with direct experience in crisis care.
  • Strong capability in clinical risk assessment and intervention in digital or online contexts.
  • Advanced degree, specialized credential, or comparable hands-on experience in mental-health or child-safety work.
  • Exposure to CSAM-adjacent policy work or child online exploitation prevention efforts is needed.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex topics clearly to different audiences.

This position is structured as a contract engagement and is remote. The role involves 10 to 40 hours of work each week. The compensation range is $50 to $90 per hour.
