Job description
About the role
Elios AI is seeking a Chief Transformation Officer to lead the creation of a newly independent company separated from a large public-company parent. The business is software and technology driven, and this position will help define the operating model from the ground up as it transitions into a standalone organization.
Supported by a global private equity firm, this senior operator will be accountable for the separation and transformation effort. The work includes disentangling the company from shared parent systems, establishing the capabilities needed to function independently, and guiding the first 100 days in line with the value-creation plan. The role will involve close collaboration with the CEO, the board, and the deal team.
This opportunity is designed for someone who has previously led carve-outs and is comfortable working through uncertainty. It suits a person who can create structure in a fast-changing environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead the transformation roadmap for a business being separated from a large corporate parent and launched as an independent company.
- Oversee the transition away from shared parent systems and put in place the operating model, processes, and reporting required for a standalone business.
- Guide the technology and software agenda throughout the transition, covering infrastructure through product.
- Work closely with the CEO, board, and private equity deal team on the value-creation plan and the first 100 days.
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiency while the company stabilizes.
- Help define and recruit the leadership team needed to scale the independent organization.
Requirements
- At least 15 years of experience in operating and transformation leadership, including substantial carve-out and separation work.
- Proven background in software and technology, with direct ownership of a software function rather than only oversight from the sidelines.
- Healthcare or health-tech exposure is considered an advantage.
- A strong record of creating value in private equity-backed or newly independent companies.
- Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous transition environments while bringing discipline and clarity.
- Residence in or near Indianapolis, with willingness to maintain a hybrid in-office schedule.
Why this role stands out
This is a rare opportunity to help detach a business from a major corporate parent and shape it into a standalone company with the support of a global private equity firm. The mandate covers nearly every aspect of how the business will operate, and the equity offering is significant. The scope is broad, and the impact of your work will be direct and visible.
