This permanent full-time position is a newly defined leadership role that sits close to the centre of local strategy execution, with responsibility for turning regional priorities into disciplined delivery.
The role combines leadership of major transformation work with oversight of governance, legal coordination, risk alignment and Office of the CEO activities. It is designed for an experienced leader who can balance strategic ambition with strong control, sequencing and execution.
About QBE

The organisation aims to combine scale with personal impact and is working toward becoming a more consistent and innovative risk partner. The culture emphasises human connection, capability and a collaborative approach.
Key responsibilities
- Shape and direct the AUSPAC transformation roadmap, including priorities, sequencing and delivery oversight.
- Provide leadership across major change programs, with attention to governance, risk and interdependencies.
- Support the rollout of enterprise transformation initiatives within the division in partnership with global and regional executives.

- Align AUSPAC and Group stakeholders to ensure strategic objectives are delivered effectively.
What the role involves
The position reports to the AUSPAC CEO and is responsible for ensuring the division’s transformation agenda is actively managed and the governance model operates effectively. It also serves as the main connection point for Group-provided services and plays an influential role on the AUSPAC Executive Management Board.
This appointment is designated under the Financial Accountability Regime (FAR) as an Accountable Person and under APRA Fit & Proper standards as a Responsible Person. Full role details can be discussed during the interview stage.
What we are looking for
The ideal candidate will be a proven senior executive from financial services, with strong experience leading transformation and governance in a complex regulated environment. Success in this role depends on the ability to combine delivery focus with sound risk judgment, operational discipline and stakeholder influence at the highest level.
Requirements
- Background leading enterprise-scale transformation portfolios across several programs and business areas.
- Experience influencing effectively at C-suite level and engaging with Board and regulatory stakeholders.
- Strong track record in leading complex change across matrixed and global organisations.
- Solid understanding of governance, risk and regulatory frameworks, with APRA and FAR exposure considered an advantage.
- Ability to prioritise and sequence competing transformation efforts over both short- and long-term horizons.
- Commercial thinking with a focus on value delivery and measurable outcomes.
- Capability to translate enterprise strategy into practical regional or divisional execution plans.
- Experience leading high-performing cross-functional teams and building a culture of accountability and delivery.
- Insurance sector experience will be viewed favourably.
Benefits
- A hybrid working arrangement that combines home and office work to support balance.
- Access to wellbeing support, including coaching, nutrition guidance, confidential counselling, and financial and legal advice.
- 18 weeks of gender-equal flexible parental leave for all new parents, including paid superannuation.
