Role Overview

We are experiencing global growth and aim to lead the market by 2028. Central to this ambition is technology, and we are searching for a seasoned Chief Technology Officer (CTO) charged with shaping our long-term technology vision, enhancing engineering quality, and developing a scalable, secure, innovative platform to drive future expansion.

Key Responsibilities

• Set and own Sana Commerce's technological vision aligned with the company's growth goals, positioning us as the top B2B eCommerce platform.
• Construct a balanced technology roadmap fostering innovation, scalability, operational excellence, security, and sustainability.
• Motivate the organization with a clear technology direction ensuring that engineering strategy supports business and product aims.
• Plan for evolution of our platform from a modern SaaS application to a cloud-native, highly scalable architecture.
• Collaborate with Product leadership to ensure technology investments address immediate client needs and long-term platform development.
• Provide strategic leadership for global Engineering and IT teams.
• Ensure engineering efforts are trustworthy, scalable, and aligned with business priorities.
• Promote excellence through advanced software practices, architectural controls, cloud transformation, security, and platform enhancement.
• Integrate AI and automation to boost development productivity, testing, quality assurance, and overall engineering output.
• Reduce technical complexity by applying principles of elimination, standardization, and automation to increase efficiency.
• Oversee the SaaS platform's health, encompassing performance, security, reliability, scalability, and resilience.
• Drive platform improvements to raise developer productivity, engineering speed, software quality, and customer satisfaction.
• Ensure alignment across functions on release planning, prioritization, resource distribution, and implementation.
• Establish a technological organization fit for sustained global growth.
• Scout and adopt emerging technologies to reinforce Sana Commerce's market position.
• Lead adoption of AI, automation, and modern engineering techniques to enhance product capabilities and team productivity.
• Cultivate a culture that encourages innovation while maintaining operational excellence and platform stability.
• Strengthen the global Engineering leadership team.
• Expand the Engineering hub in Egypt as a strategic complement to the Ukraine team.
• Build leadership depth, succession strength, and attract top engineering talent.
• Promote ownership, accountability, transparency, collaboration, and continuous improvement within Engineering and Technology.

Candidate Profile

We seek a visionary technology executive blending strategic foresight with operational delivery, skilled in scaling engineering teams and organizations within fast-growing SaaS sectors. The ideal candidate brings over 10 years of senior technology leadership, with proven experience overseeing large, globally distributed Engineering groups, ideally in B2B Software or eCommerce domains. Strong background in cloud architecture, distributed systems, platform modernization, SaaS technologies, and engineering execution is essential. Commercial savvy and ability to balance tech investments with efficiency and business results are key. Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, data-driven decision-making, and a hands-on leadership approach that empowers and drives teams forward complete the profile.
