Role overview
The Chief Strategy Officer is a senior, full-time remote leadership position focused on shaping the company’s long-range direction. This person will guide strategic planning, connect investment and operating priorities, and work alongside executive leadership to rank and advance the initiatives that drive growth and stronger performance.
What the role involves
- Lead the organisation’s strategic planning cycle and translate priorities into practical business direction.
- Coordinate investment and operational plans so they work together effectively.
- Study market conditions and competitor activity to uncover risks and opportunities.
- Build business cases and plans for new initiatives.
- Assess portfolio and pipeline results against strategic goals and adjust direction when needed.
- Partner with finance, investment, and operations teams to make sure strategies are financially realistic and ready for execution.
- Prepare strategy updates, reports, and executive presentations for leadership and stakeholders.
- Create alignment across teams and support leaders in strategic thinking and decision-making.
- Coach and mentor senior leaders on approach, judgment, and prioritisation.
Qualifications and experience
- Deep experience in strategic planning and business planning at an executive level.
- Strong analytical capability, with the ability to turn complex data, market signals, and competitive intelligence into clear recommendations.
- Good command of finance concepts such as portfolio management, capital allocation, and financial modelling for corporate and investment decisions.
- Background in executive leadership, including influencing senior stakeholders, driving cross-functional work, and leading strong teams.
- Experience in venture capital, private equity, asset management, or fast-growing technology/financial services environments is an advantage.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence presenting complex ideas to varied audiences.
- Comfort working in a distributed remote setting while managing several priorities and deadlines.
- A graduate degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline is preferred; comparable experience may be accepted.
