Job description
About Dabble
Dabble operates a licensed sportsbook in Australia under the NTRWC, and has done so since 2021. The business aims to create a highly engaging social betting experience built around meaningful interaction, participation, and entertainment for customers.
The company has office hubs in Darwin, Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide, Albury, Austin (US), and Leeds (UK). Although the organisation supports remote-friendly working, it also encourages use of its office network, including sponsored cross-office flights throughout the year to help teams collaborate and stay connected.
Dabble’s operations extend across several markets. This includes a Daily Fantasy Sports app in the United States, launched in 2023, as well as a launch into the United Kingdom in 2025. The team is made up of ambitious, driven people looking for a leader to help shape the next phase of growth.
Role Overview
As Chief Product & Operations Officer, you will sit at the centre of product strategy, operational performance, and customer experience. You will hold executive responsibility for how customers experience and interact with the product across every touchpoint.
This position leads a broad portfolio that includes Product, UX, Trading, Customer Operations, and Casino. You will define the direction, establish strong governance, and create the conditions for high-performing teams to execute quickly and in alignment.
The role requires you to set long-term strategy, bring stakeholders together, and make clear decisions on what the business should invest in, build now, or postpone in support of a bold and ambitious future vision. Success in this role depends on comfort with complexity, clarity in communication, and the ability to move talented teams forward without losing pace.
Location
This opportunity is open to candidates anywhere in Australia, with preference for people based in Melbourne or Brisbane.
Responsibilities
- Define and take ownership of a clear long-term product direction for one of Australia’s most ambitious consumer technology platforms, including roadmap planning from immediate priorities through to a two-year horizon.
- Lead the use of emerging technologies, agentic AI, and modern tooling across product, design, and engineering to create differentiated customer experiences.
- Hold executive accountability for prioritisation across the complete product portfolio and build governance structures and decision-making materials that support rapid, well-informed choices in a complex organisation.
- Help shape the future of social betting, Casino, and a product experience intended to set the standard in its category, with a long-term ambition of developing Dabble’s own games.
- Give Trading and Customer Operations a clear strategic focus and senior-level backing so they can improve customer outcomes and operational efficiency through technology.
- Bring together engineers, designers, and executive leaders through strong storytelling, sharp thinking, and conviction so diverse stakeholders stay aligned and engaged.
Skills and Experience
- Substantial leadership experience in senior product or customer-focused roles within a fast-growing digital B2C business.
- Proven capability to set product strategy and vision at scale, including defining how a complex product organisation plans and executes.
- Strong prioritisation judgment with a record of balancing innovation and delivery, while guiding stakeholders through difficult investment decisions.
- Excellent communication and influence skills, with the ability to simplify complex ideas, earn credibility with specialists, and navigate competing priorities constructively.
- Experience in regulated, high-volume B2C environments such as wagering, fintech, marketplaces, iGaming/Casino, media, or similar; confidence working through commercial and regulatory complexity at global scale.
- Strong interest in technology, particularly the practical use of agentic AI, automation, and new tooling across product, design, and development.
- Ability to manage conflict and lead change effectively by listening carefully, making timely decisions, and leaving people feeling respected and heard.
Dabble Culture
- Wear what suits your day so you can focus on your work.
- Choose the work setup that helps you perform best, whether that is in the office, at home, or elsewhere.
- Work with a genuine team of people who welcome ideas of every size.
- Use scheduled focus time to support deep thinking and concentration.
- Join the annual Dabblecon convention, where the team comes together to celebrate achievements and plan for the year ahead.
- Work within a values-led environment built around Fun, Celebratory, Community, Evolutionary, and Focus.
Perks
- Five weeks of paid annual leave.
- Paid parental leave for primary and secondary caregivers.
- Flexible working hours to suit a cross-country workforce, with autonomy over your schedule.
- Access for employees and their families to the Sonder app, providing 24/7 support for mental health, medical advice, safety assistance, and more.
- An annual cash bonus linked to company performance.
- Participation in the Dabble Day Dividend, where all employees share the day’s revenue on the company’s birthday each year.
Who This Suits
This role is best suited to a collaborative, adaptable leader who learns quickly, works well in a remote-first environment, and contributes openly with others. The company values people who share ideas, take ownership, communicate transparently, and help others grow.
You should be comfortable working with autonomy, contributing to the community around you, and embracing accountability for your work. Respect for colleagues, openness to new ideas, and a willingness to raise the standard are all important. The organisation also values self-care, healthy boundaries, and speaking up when support is needed.
Remuneration
The stated salary for this role is AUD 350,000 plus superannuation and benefits, with flexibility available.
