Job description

Role overview

This is a senior product leadership opportunity with a scaling B2B SaaS and data business that combines deep sector expertise with modern technology to support complex decision-making. The business is backed by over £40 million in investment and has delivered 500% contracted revenue growth since 2022. The role is permanent, offers a base salary of up to £200,000, and includes equity and bonus.

The position is remote-first, with one day each week required in Reading, England. The organisation is expanding internationally and is investing in AI-led product innovation across customer-facing offerings used in demanding global sectors.

About the company

The company partners with major organisations around the world, providing timely intelligence that helps customers make confident commercial decisions. It has been built around a mission to improve how complex industries assess and manage risk. The culture is collaborative, inclusive, and trust-based, with a strong emphasis on ownership, product quality, and continuous innovation.

What the role involves

As Chief Product Officer, you will define and drive the product direction across both SaaS and service-led offerings. You will be responsible for shaping the product function, creating strong cross-functional operating rhythms, and ensuring delivery is aligned with business goals, customer needs, and commercial priorities.

You will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Technology Officer, and Chief Revenue Officer to turn strategic priorities into clear product decisions. The role requires a hands-on leader who can balance long-term vision with practical execution while building a product organisation capable of scaling with the business.

Key responsibilities

  • Set up, grow, and guide a high-performing product team, introducing effective ways of working that support both speed and commercial awareness.
  • Create a clear and transparent process for product decisions that converts strategic direction into outcomes focused on users.
  • Develop a joined-up product strategy covering SaaS capabilities and service-based offerings, balancing immediate delivery needs with longer-term goals.
  • Work with the CTO to ensure product and technology plans are aligned and that delivery supports the wider business strategy.
  • Own discovery, backlog handling, prioritisation, and roadmap communication across the organisation.
  • Help support expansion into new markets by aligning product direction with revenue objectives and customer expectations.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Data, and Commercial teams to make sure delivery reflects market demand and strategic focus.
  • Bring consistency and clarity to product communication and represent product thinking in cross-functional work.
  • Spot opportunities to embed AI into customer-facing products and use AI to improve discovery, validation, and delivery.
  • Contribute as a key member of the executive leadership team, helping shape board-level discussion and organisational alignment.
  • Strengthen trust and alignment across Product, Technology, Intelligence, and Risk teams.

What the company is looking for

The ideal candidate will have experience leading product teams in fast-moving scale-up settings and a strong understanding of how to operate in a high-growth environment. You should be comfortable making product decisions with executive stakeholders while keeping delivery on track.

Success in this role will come from combining strategic thinking, hands-on product leadership, and the ability to work across multiple functions and priorities. A customer-first mindset, commercial judgement, and confidence in AI-enabled product development are all important.

Requirements

  • Proven background in building and leading product teams in fast-paced scale-up businesses.
  • Strong command of discovery, backlog management, prioritisation methods, and roadmap communication.
  • Ability to support executive-level product decisions without slowing down delivery.
  • Experience partnering with senior leaders such as the CEO, CRO, and CTO.
  • Experience across both SaaS product development and service-based offerings.
  • Practical use of agile and lean startup approaches.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to turn commercial and strategic input into clear product actions.
  • Experience shaping or contributing to product strategy across multiple portfolios.
  • Hands-on experience using AI within product development lifecycles.
  • Customer-centric thinking with a focus on commercial outcomes.
  • Resilience and flexibility when dealing with ambiguity and shifting priorities.
  • A collaborative leadership style and the ability to build trusted relationships across teams.
  • Confidence to influence at board and leadership level while remaining open to challenge.
  • Personal qualities including empathy, transparency, honesty, integrity, and accountability.
  • Ability to work autonomously while staying closely connected to the wider business.

Benefits and package

  • Base salary up to £200,000, plus equity and performance bonus.
  • 25 days of annual leave, in addition to UK bank holidays.
  • Option to purchase or sell up to 5 days of leave.
  • 3 days of family and community leave each year.
  • Enhanced maternity policy, including IVF and fertility leave.
  • Pension arrangement with a minimum 4% employee contribution and 4% employer contribution, plus salary sacrifice options.
  • Life assurance cover equal to 4 times salary.
  • Private medical insurance through AXA, with the option to include family cover.
  • Cashback support for optical and dental expenses.
  • 10% of time set aside for personal development tied to the role.
  • Support focused on long-term financial wellbeing.

Working style and culture

You will join a values-led environment where collaboration, trust, transparency, autonomy, innovation, and ownership are central to how the business works. The company offers flexible working and aims to support employee wellbeing and career development through a high-performing, supportive team culture.

Accessibility and equal opportunities

The hiring organisation is committed to diversity and inclusion and welcomes applicants from all backgrounds. Reasonable adjustments can be provided during the application or interview process, and candidates are encouraged to request support if needed. The recruitment process is designed to be fair and accessible without requiring disclosure of the details behind a disability or health condition.
