Role Summary

The Chief Product and Innovation Officer (CPIO) sits on the Executive Leadership Team and is accountable for guiding the company’s product research, innovation agenda, strategic direction, development, commercialization, and operational oversight. The position is responsible for identifying, designing, and rolling out forward-looking solutions, leading product R&D, and ensuring that the company’s offerings support durable growth, technology advancement, and expansion into international markets.

Beyond product leadership, the CPIO acts as a trusted advisor to the President and the Board of Directors and may be called on to support other areas of the business as needed.

The preferred candidate may be located in the United States or Europe.

Product Strategy and Leadership

Shape the company’s product vision, strategic direction, and roadmap, then drive execution of approved plans.
Keep product initiatives aligned with customer needs and broader business goals.
Review market movements, client feedback, competitor activity, and new technologies to uncover opportunities for growth and innovation.
Advise the Board and Executive Team on product investments and strategic priorities.

Product Operations

Lead the operational delivery of the company’s products and services.
Make sure products perform reliably and meet standards for quality, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
Set and track key performance indicators to measure product success and operational health.
Drive cross-functional efforts that improve efficiency, scalability, and profitability.
Manage product upgrades, launches, maintenance, and lifecycle activities.
Continuously strengthen the company’s proprietary platform and related technology solutions.
Define product architecture, technical needs, and long-range technology roadmaps.
Build scalable solutions that support international identity verification, decisioning, and data services.

Customer and Commercial Support

Partner with customers, business partners, and internal teams to understand requirements and deliver successful outcomes.
Contribute product expertise and strategic insight to business development, sales, and retention efforts.
Join client meetings and executive presentations when needed.

Research, Innovation, and Technology Development

Direct research and development efforts in identity verification, data intelligence, digital trust, and decisioning technologies.
Spot emerging technologies, market gaps, and innovative approaches that can strengthen the product portfolio and market position.
Guide the design, development, and evolution of proprietary platforms, APIs, and product frameworks.
Assess artificial intelligence, machine learning, automation, and data technologies for possible use in products and services.
Oversee proofs of concept, technology pilots, and experimental product work.
Work with external technology partners, data providers, and industry bodies to advance innovation.
Create and maintain intellectual property, methodologies, and technical frameworks tied to the product line.
Help bring newly developed products, technologies, and services to market.

Executive Leadership

Participate as a core member of the Executive Leadership Team.
Support the President with strategy, operations, organizational development, and other key initiatives.
Collaborate with senior leaders to achieve company objectives.
Provide input to the Board on product direction, operational improvements, and growth opportunities.

Governance and Risk Management

Ensure that products and related operations follow applicable legal, regulatory, contractual, and industry obligations.
Identify and manage operational, technical, and commercial risks connected to product delivery.
Support governance activities and Board reporting requirements.

Qualifications

Education: A bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, Engineering, Information Systems, or a closely related field is preferred. Advanced business or technical qualifications are an advantage.

Experience: Extensive executive-level leadership experience in technology, software, data, SaaS, or a related sector is required, with identity and compliance experience considered highly valuable. The role also calls for experience leading innovation, R&D, or new product development, assessing emerging technologies and turning research into commercial products, managing complex product portfolios and operational delivery, and working directly with executive teams and Boards of Directors. Strong commercial, strategic, and operational management capability is essential.

Skills and Competencies: You should bring strong strategic planning and execution skills, product and operational leadership experience, sound financial and commercial judgement, excellent executive communication and stakeholder management, the ability to lead and develop teams, strong problem-solving and decision-making ability, a customer-first mindset, and capability in change management and organizational leadership.

This is a full-time remote role. The ideal candidate may be based in the United States or Europe.
