Job description
About the Company
Full Circle Electronics, part of Tide Rock, is a fast-growing business focused on IT asset disposition (ITAD) and electronics recycling. The company operates across the United States and Latin America and is expanding through both organic growth and acquisitions.
Role Overview
The organization is hiring a transformational Chief Operating Officer to help guide the next stage of growth. This is a highly active leadership role for someone who enjoys building structure, strengthening accountability, and professionalizing operations without slowing momentum.
There is a clear preference for candidates based in the greater Chicago area. The company will also consider applicants located in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Denver, Dallas, or Atlanta.
What You Will Lead
As COO, you will oversee all major operational areas, including e-manufacturing, recycling, logistics, and processing facilities. You will be responsible for roughly three-quarters of the employee base and will help drive operational effectiveness, safety, scalability, and profitability across multiple locations.
You will work closely with the CEO and leadership team to improve performance, integrate acquisitions, standardize procedures, and create the operating framework needed for ongoing expansion.
The business sits in a sector supported by strong long-term tailwinds, including sustainability goals, circular economy adoption, and rising demand for responsible electronics recycling and asset disposition services.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct operations across several facilities in North and Latin America.
- Improve productivity, quality, safety, cost control, and overall operational performance.
- Build and roll out scalable systems, workflows, and key performance metrics.
- Oversee logistics, transportation, inventory control, and supply chain activities.
- Manage facility performance, staffing plans, equipment usage, and production capacity.
- Promote Lean, Six Sigma, continuous improvement, and other operational best practices.
- Work with compliance teams to maintain environmental and industry requirements, including R2 and e-Stewards certifications.
- Support the integration of bolt-on acquisitions and broader operational consolidation efforts.
- Coach and develop a strong operations leadership team.
- Lead budgeting efforts, strengthen margins, and improve EBITDA through operational gains.
- Create a culture centered on ownership, execution, and ongoing improvement.
Candidate Profile
The company is looking for a seasoned operator who has led multi-site organizations through growth, transformation, and operational scaling.
Strong candidates may come from ITAD and electronics recycling, industrial services, manufacturing, processing, distribution, logistics, or other operations-heavy environments. Backgrounds in private equity-backed middle-market manufacturing or senior multi-site operations roles such as COO, VP Operations, SVP Operations, General Manager, or Division President are also relevant.
Required Experience
- At least 10 years of steadily progressing operations leadership experience.
- Proven success managing multi-site operations with large employee populations.
- Deep experience in process improvement, operational excellence, and organizational change.
- Ability to design and implement scalable systems, workflows, and performance tracking.
- Track record of helping growing organizations become more structured and effective.
- Strong financial and operational judgment, including budget ownership and KPI management.
- Capability to combine strategic leadership with practical, hands-on execution.
Preferred Experience
- Exposure to ITAD, electronics recycling, reverse logistics, recycling, or related sectors.
- Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma knowledge.
- ERP implementation experience.
- Prior acquisition integration experience.
- Familiarity with environmental compliance standards such as R2, e-Stewards, ISO 14001, or similar frameworks.
Why This Opportunity Stands Out
- Join a business that has been growing by about 50% year over year.
- Help shape the future of a platform in a rapid scale-up phase.
- Work directly with an experienced CEO and ownership group.
- Lead a geographically distributed operation with significant complexity and upside.
- Play a central role in building the infrastructure for the company’s next stage of growth.
- Contribute to sustainability and circular economy initiatives in an expanding industry.
Additional Information
This is a hands-on leadership position, not a maintenance-focused role. The ideal candidate will be comfortable in an entrepreneurial, fast-moving environment and eager to create scalable operational excellence.
Interested candidates who are proven operators and enjoy leading change, building organizations, and improving performance in a high-growth setting are encouraged to explore the opportunity confidentially.
