Role Summary
This is a full-time, on-site Chief Operating Officer position based in Miami, Florida. The role calls for a well-rounded professional in financial services who has practical experience setting up and running an institutional-grade back office and working directly with sophisticated investors. The ideal person is meticulous, proactive, collaborative, and comfortable in an entrepreneurial environment, with a demonstrated history of creating systems and supporting organizational scaling within finance or investment management.
Key Responsibilities
- Track trade workflows, put control measures in place, and build operating procedures for internal use.
- Review and reconcile post-trade activity, including trade clearing.
- Create and roll out risk management policies, systems, and procedures.
- Work with the firm’s compliance consultant to strengthen compliance practices and support SEC reporting requirements.
- Manage fund administrator processing for monthly NAV calculations, investor subscriptions, and redemptions.
- Support the annual audit of fund financial statements and the preparation of related tax statements.
- Help prepare investor-facing marketing materials such as letters, presentation decks, and DDQs.
Qualifications
- 8 to 12 years of experience in finance or investment management, with direct exposure to institutional-quality back-office operations and investor communication.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher, supported by a strong academic record.
- Strong interest in organizational development, investing, and alternative investment strategies.
