Role Overview
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will spearhead the launch and operational establishment of our inaugural batch production facility, setting the stage for a prototype-scale demonstration plant. This responsibility encompasses site selection, directing engineering and construction efforts, securing necessary regulatory permits, and overseeing commissioning activities to bring the facility online.
As an integral part of the executive leadership team, the COO will develop and implement aevoloop's industrialisation objectives, steering the transformation of innovative technology into dependable manufacturing processes and positioning the company to support sustained expansion and prospective licensing endeavors.
Main Responsibilities
- Design and implement operations and industrialisation strategies aligned with company goals.
- Lead site evaluation and finalize selection for the initial batch production facility.
- Supervise engineering, construction, and commissioning of a polymer production plant using polycondensation technology.
- Oversee all aspects of regulatory compliance, permitting processes, and process safety.
- Manage post-commissioning facility operations to ensure efficiency, stability, and continuous improvement.
- Set up operational frameworks including KPIs and reporting structures to support stable and compliant manufacturing.
- Initiate and develop supply chain and production planning capabilities from the ground up.
- Collaborate closely with technical leadership to transition processes from R&D to scaled industrial production.
- Create a strategic plan for future scale-up, including continuous plant enhancements and licensing possibilities.
- Serve as the operations representative at executive and board meetings.

Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Formal education in chemical or process engineering.
- Proven record of scaling and commissioning polymer production, specifically involving polycondensation methods.
- Experience advancing production from pilot to demonstration scale.
- Leadership experience in plant commissioning and operational ramp-up phases.
- Competence in navigating regulatory filings, approvals, and ensuring process safety within industrial manufacturing.
- Track record of building and managing operational teams.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Familiarity with German and/or European regulatory environments.
- Knowledge of process automation and manufacturing optimization.
- Background in fast-growing, technology-driven companies.
- Experience contributing at the executive leadership level.
