Job description
Role overview
An AI media company is hiring a strategic, execution-focused Chief of Staff to work directly with the Co-CEO. The role sits close to the core of the business and is designed for someone who can move ideas into action, sharpen priorities, and help keep cross-company initiatives on track.
This opportunity is best suited to a strong operator who performs well in fast-moving environments, enjoys tackling complex problems, and is energized by helping scale a high-growth company. You will act as a close extension of the Co-CEO, helping align teams and increasing the effectiveness of executive leadership.
Key responsibilities
Own strategic execution in partnership with the Co-CEO and senior leadership, converting top-level goals into clear plans with owners, deadlines, and accountability.
Gather, organize, and distill insights from customers, investors, partners, and industry discussions, then ensure action items are followed through.
Track major initiatives, surface status updates, and flag risks, dependencies, and roadblocks clearly for leadership.
Spot operational inefficiencies and help design solutions that improve execution and overall organizational performance.
Work across Product, Engineering, Research, Partnerships, Go-to-Market, Finance, and Operations to keep workstreams aligned.
Build a strong understanding of the company’s products, technology, customer needs, and competitive environment.
Lead special projects and other strategic workstreams on behalf of the Co-CEO as priorities evolve.
Candidate profile
The preferred background includes 3–5+ years in consulting, investment banking, private equity, venture capital, strategy, operations, or a high-growth startup. Candidates with investment or banking experience are especially preferred for this position, and consulting backgrounds are also acceptable.
The company is looking for people with strong tenure, ideally at least 2.5 years at each employer, along with clear career progression.
You should have a track record of managing complex projects across many stakeholders, strong executive communication skills, and the ability to stay highly organized while balancing competing demands.
The role also calls for sharp analysis, sound judgment, a strong bias toward ownership, and enough technical curiosity to quickly understand new technologies and AI-based products.
You should be comfortable moving between strategy and hands-on execution, and should be able to operate effectively in ambiguity while helping build scalable systems and processes from scratch.
Location and compensation
This role is based in New York City.
Compensation is listed at $170,000 to $200,000, depending on experience.
Additional information
Applicants with references are preferred. A reference-management tool is mentioned as a way to organize and share references, and candidates are encouraged to keep their reference materials ready. The posting also notes that maintaining an updated professional profile and gathering references early may help candidates stand out.
